Dr. Stuart J. Thomas was born and raised in Athens, Georgia. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia in 1979. He went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in 1984. That is the same year he joined the practice with his father. Dr. Thomas offers a full-range of services including comprehensive adult and pediatric vision examinations, contact lens fittings, diagnosis and management of eye diseases, pre- and post-operative surgical care for LASIK and cataract surgeries.

In his free time, Dr. Thomas enjoys yoga, pilates, cooking, and watching college football. He is also passionate about his family. His wife, Sharon is also an optometrist and has recently retired as a Clinical Project Manager for Alcon Labs. They are the parents of two daughters, Paige and Mary Stuart, and granddaughter, Frances Grace.

He is a long-standing member of the American Optometric Association and the Georgia Optometric Association, serving in various leadership positions including President of the GOA and also served as President of SECO, International, an organization that provides continuing education for optometrists and their staff. Most recently Dr. Thomas served as the Chairman of the Board for VSP Vision and served on the Board of Trustees for the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee.
