Hard or RGP Contact Lenses
Hard or RGP contact lenses are more durable than soft contact lenses and are resistant to buildup of protein deposits on the lens surface. Hard contact lenses provide clearer vision, especially for patients that have irregular astigmatism or keratoconus.
The life of an RGP lens lasts longer than soft contact lenses. However, they take a longer period of time to adjust than compared to soft contact lenses.
RGPs also require a more complex cleaning and disinfection process than soft contact lenses.
